General Mills is sweet on honey in 2015

This month, General Mills started unveiling many of its more than 50 new products for its 2015 lineup. The Minneapolis-based company’s new products focused on a variety of emerging food trends.

With more consumers placing value on better-for-you options, gluten-free offerings and high protein foods, General Mills took these demands and created flavorful, innovative products with simple ingredients. “I’m very excited about the quality of our new products. We’ve deeply engaged with our consumers and we’re creating foods that meet their needs,” says General Mills’ Jeff Harmening, executive vice president and chief operating officer, U.S. Retail.

Honey is featured in many of General Mills’ 2015 products, and here are a few of them.

Gluten Free Chex™ Granola Mix in Honey Nut

This light, crunchy granola mix features the well-known cereal Chex and combines it with almonds and honey nut clusters. On top of being gluten-free, this sweet granola mix is made with no artificial flavors and no high fructose corn syrup.

Yoplait Greek 100 Yogurt

Yoplait Greek 100 added four new flavors to its already popular line for 2015, one of which is simply honey. The rich, creamy honey yogurt is great plain or mixed with fruit, nuts and granola.

LÄRABAR über® Dark Chocolate Raspberry Crunchy Nut Bar

LÄRABAR’s newest flavor takes almonds, cashews, dark chocolate and raspberries, then sweetens them with honey. Many of the snack bars in the über line feature honey as an all-natural sweetener.

Cascadian Farm Granola in Peanut Butter Bliss

With loads of whole grain oats sweetened by organic honey, this peanut butter granola is high in protein and offers 6g per serving.

Nature Valley Protein Oatmeal in Mixed Berry Crunch

Packing a protein punch at 10g per cup, Nature Valley Protein Oatmeal comes in a microwaveable cup featuring whole grain oats and real fruit pieces with a crunchy granola topping.
