This ginger-flavored ice cream is described by Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream’s as ice cream with a sweet honey twist.
It’s perfected with the help of Asian-Fusion restaurant Muramoto. Honey is blended with cream, milk, whey solids and ginger to make this sweet treat.
In 1962, Chuck Senior and Nancy Deadman opened the doors to Chocolate House Candy and Ice Cream store. Beginning with 19 flavors, the shop gained popularity in the Madison, Wis. area. The Deadman’s sons took over the business and rebranded the shop to Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. They own and operate three retail stores, as well as the manufacturing plant that has grown to make 100 flavors.
