Kellogg recently conducted one of the largest surveys on the subject of breakfast and the morning mealtime routine and the results may come as a surprise. While the vast majority of Americans feel breakfast is important, the reality of hectic mornings makes it difficult to fit the meal in every day.
“We’ve all heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” said Dr. Laura Jana, pediatrician and award-winning author of Heading Home with Your Newborn and Food Fights. “And that’s for good reason. After sleeping, we need to re-fuel our brains and bodies for the day. Without a healthy breakfast, we simply are not as likely to function at our best.”
Honey plays a key role in the breakfast category, as it’s an essential ingredient in a number of cereals, bars, breads and muffins. Honey is composed primarily of carbohydrates (natural sugars) and water, as well as trace enzymes, minerals, vitamins and amino acids, which provide a natural energy boost without any added ingredients.
There are several quick and easy options available to fit into even the most hectic morning routine. Kellogg’s® Crunchy Nut™ Roasted Nut and Honey cereal and Special K® Multigrain Oats & Honey Cereal are two great options with natural honey and essential vitamins to start the day.
